Fleming's Takes the "Steak"

Best steak in The Woodlands goes to Fleming’s! I have to say, I do enjoy a good steak at home from time to time but I never order it in a restaurant--but “when in Rome” eat as the Texans do! With plans for dinner out on New Year’s Eve, a sporadic move on my part—trying to find a nice restaurant on New Year’s Eve is NOT easy—a few clicks around woodlandsonline.com led us to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar. Fleming’s, located on Restaurant Row at the Woodlands Mall offers valet parking, a non-smoky atmosphere, and friendly staff. Not to mention delicious fresh dishes. The menu boasts USDA prime steaks, fresh seafood, delicious salads, and a number of tasty creative side dishes that are like a gourmet twist on classic comfort foods. They offer a number of creative cocktails such as the Caprese Martini, and a long list of wines by the glass or bottle. If you’re in the mood for a white get the Sokol Blosser Evolution #9. Dinner started out with delicious Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes with Roasted Red Pepper and Lime Butter Sauce, then the Wedge Salad, always a classic, especially before a steak. My husband ordered the dish that won me over—the Petit Filet Mignon with Fleming’s Potatoes (like potatoes au gratin to die for). Order this from the smaller portions section of the menu for a better price but still the prefect amount of food. The Tuna Mignon with Grilled Asparagus was also delicious and off the smaller portions menu for a great price. With Fleming's taking the cake for the best steak, I'll definitely be back soon. There just isn't enough belly room to try all of the tasty side dishes offered, plus, the list of desserts I didn't make it to. (Word has it they have the best whipped cream--who knew?) And with Fleming’s “5 for 6 til 7” happy hour on top of it, stop in soon, you won't be disappointed.
